True Conveyancers
AML & CTF
RELIANCE AGREEMENTS
From 1 July 2026, real estate agents, lawyers and conveyancers will have new AML/CTF obligations. This means buyers and sellers may need to complete additional identity and customer due diligence checks during a property transaction.
MAP Lawyers can work with agencies under a Reliance Agreement to help make this process more efficient, secure and client-friendly.

MAP Lawyers can securely share the completed AML/CTF check information in accordance with the Reliance Agreement.

STEP 6 - MAP Lawyers handles the conveyance to settlement
Once a fully executed Contract is received, MAP Lawyers will manage the sale or purchase conveyance through to settlement.
IMPORTANT NOTES
A Reliance Agreement does not remove an agency’s own AML/CTF obligations. Each agency must still comply with its own legal obligations and AML/CTF program. A Reliance Agreement can, however, help make the process more efficient and client-friendly.
MAP Lawyers will only share AML compliance checks under a Reliance Agreement once MAP Lawyers has been formally engaged for a sale or purchase conveyance.
